Mutual Fund Advisor Assistant – Manulife Securities Investment Services Inc.
Executive Assistant - 123Retire
Melanie is our #1 customer services specialist. Apart from being the friendly voice you get when you call our office, Melanie keeps this organization operational on a day-to-day basis.
Prior to joining our firm, Melanie worked in tech support for 5 years. This has made her especially good at handling the questions posed by Robert and, of course, his clients. During the past 11 years, she’s proven to be able to fix most problems, both internal and external, in a timely manner.
Her attitude has been a welcome addition to our team, and over the years her knowledge has become extensive. Incidentally, she’s also bilingual.
As you would expect, Melanie is mutual funds licensed; however, under the terms of her licence she is not allowed to solicit trades. Nevertheless, she is more than capable of helping clients with their issues and of course, she can process their redemption requests.
On a related matter, once we learned that Melanie always wanted to be a member of the RCMP, albeit as a K9 officer, we quickly appointed her our Compliance Officer. We can confirm that she’s taken this appointment to heart.
When she’s not working with Robert, Melanie runs her own version of Uber. She has two boys in hockey and is always on the road or in cold arenas cheering them on. She also sells tickets, works bingos, and assists in the running of the hockey organization; she’s the treasurer on at least one team. She’s a hockey Mum in the full sense of the word.
And in the summer, it’s baseball. We’re starting to think Melanie doesn’t have a life.
She’s reassured us that she does have some down time. When that happens, she likes to read, and she has confessed to watching reality TV.
As T. Boone Pickens noted prior to his passing on September 11, 2019, no one is indispensable, but in our office, Melanie comes close. Robert says that’s because she specializes in making him look good.
